Not all vacations have to last for a week or more. Sometimes our most magical memories come from those quick getaways where you get in, spend a couple of days, and then get out as fast as you arrived. The downside is that the 48 hours pass by so quickly, you end up missing out on some of the best of what that area has to offer in Kauai activities—but that’s not going to happen on your wonderful weekend in Kaua‘i, because you have Ahh! Aloha on your side, giving you all the suggestions necessary to ensure your next 48 hours in paradise are going to be the best 48 hours of your life!
As the Sun Rises Over the Island of Kaua‘i
As breakfast is the most important meal of the day, our first order of business will be filling your tanks with a hearty breakfast from the Kalapaki Beach Hut. A local tradition since 1973, the Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast will give you the fuel you need for your next adventure. Don’t linger long over your first meal, though. It’s time to start the next phase of your Kaua‘i experience with a zipline tour from Kaua‘i Back Country Adventures. Sometimes the best way to see a place is from above, and the zipline allows our guests a birds eye view of some of Kaua‘i’s most scenic spots and includes a dip in their natural swimming pool; this should kill another couple of hours of your day. Finishing up the rest of day one at Kalapaki Beach will feed your soul, as you frolic in the waters, shop at the boutiques along the way, and enjoy lunch at any of the beachfront eateries located right on the beach. The day ends with a drive further south for a romantic dinner at the Beach House Restaurant at sunset before heading back to your Ahh! Aloha weekend escape to rest up for the next day!
Day 2 in Paradise
Breakfast on the lanai is always a great start to any day, so enjoy a cup of Kona coffee and some scrambled eggs for a few leisurely moments of peace and quiet, and then slip into your hiking shoes—today is about hiking trails and waterfalls! Start at Wailua Falls, which may look familiar to you, as they were prominently featured in the opening credits of the popular 70s television show, Fantasy Island. Wailua State Park offers some of the best scenic views on Kaua‘i, so plan on spending most of day two here. Pack a lunch and remember to carry out what you bring in; not all trails offer trash cans. Your last night in Kaua‘i should include a dinner at Sam’s Ocean View Restaurant before heading back to pack and prepare for tomorrow’s departure.
Excitement in Kauai Activities Starts at Home
