South Shore Kauai Vacation Condos
The South Shore is the drier coast thanks to the rain shadow of the island’s interior mountains. If you were ever going to need air conditioning on Kauai, it would be on this sun-soaked corner of the island. Poipu Kapili features air conditioning in the bedroom, with a large lanai door and ceiling fans providing plenty of cool breezes for the living room. At Poipu Kai Resort, the private Kauai vacation condos such as Mele Hale (“House of Song”) feature individual climate controlled air conditioners in the living spaces and bedrooms.
Staying in one of our air-conditioned Kauai vacation condos on the South Shore will give you access to some of the island’s best beaches. The whole family will enjoy swimming, boogie boarding, and picnicking at Poipu Beach Park. Kiahuna Beach (locally known as Sheraton’s) is ideal for beginning surfers, with its gently rolling waves close to shore.
On Kauai’s South Shore, you’ll be close to some of the island’s best shopping and dining as well. The stores at Poipu Shopping Village and The Shops at Kukui’ula will keep you browsing for hours. Art galleries, surf shops, boutiques, home décor, and more all offer chances for you to find that perfect item to bring home to remind you of your time in the islands. A wide range of restaurants are also on hand at these shopping centers, from fine dining to quick, local-inspired bites.
East Coast Kauai Vacation Condos
In between the cool extreme of the North Coast and the sunnier climes of the South Shore, Ahh! Aloha’s offerings on the east side of Kaua‘i also feature air conditioning for those who desire it. Pono Kai offers AC in its Kauai vacation condos, Banyan Harbor’s beach-style town houses feature air conditioning throughout, and the plantation-style rooms at the Islander on the Beach feature ceiling fans and central air.
Our luxury retreats in Kauai at Pono Kai front Kapa’a Beach Park as well as the Kauai Multiuse Path. This path runs for miles along the ocean, providing sweeping cliff, beach, and ocean views. Enjoy a sunrise stroll along this path as it curves along the ocean or rent bikes to enjoy it at a faster pace, stopping at various beaches along the way to cool off. Hele On Kauai Bike Rentals is just down the road from Pono Kai, offering inexpensive daily rentals perfect for cruising the path.
An air-conditioned room at Banyan Harbor will be perfect for cooling off after a day at Kalapaki Beach, located right across the street. This popular beach is known for its good surfing conditions, for both beginning and intermediate surfers. Kauai Beach Boys is on site to provide gear rentals as well as lessons.
Islander on the Beach puts you in perfect proximity for enjoying some of the island’s greatest restaurants and nightlife. Lava Lava Beach Club is right next door, known as the island’s only bar where you can enjoy your drinks with your toes in the sand as you enjoy beautiful oceanfront views.
North Shore
As the coolest and wettest side of Kaua‘i, air conditioning is seldom required in the resort town of Princeville. Still, if you are the master of the thermostat, several of the luxury retreats in Kaua'i offered by Ahh! Aloha do offer at least partial air conditioning. Puamana at Anini Beach offers air conditioning in both bedrooms, the Plantation features air conditioning units in the master bedroom and living room, and the Hanalei Bay Resort has AC in the living room and second bedroom (the master suite has a lanai and ceiling fan). Other choices include Puu Poa with AC throughout its 2-bedroom condo and the long-term rentals at Villas on the Prince (partial AC).
After navigating the steep trail heading down to the secluded Hideaways Beach, you can cool off in the refreshing ocean during calm waters. This picturesque beach has beautiful views and ideal seasonal swimming and snorkeling conditions. The steep ascent is sure to get your heart pumping, and your air-conditioned condo can be waiting for you just steps from the top if you choose one of our great vacation rentals in Kauai at Pu’u Poa.
