Anuenue Café

Hawaii is famous for its surfing, and no surf trip would be complete without a good breakfast afterwards. The Anuenue Café was founded by a surfer from San Clemente, California who opened his restaurant in 2015 in the hopes of elevating the traditional eggs and bacon breakfast that existed on Kauai at the time.

The food at the restaurant is all surf themed and fun, and the recipes are innovative and flavorful. The restaurant offers both breakfast and dinner and there are a few meals on the menu that shouldn’t be missed.

Breakfasts are what Anuenue Café in Kauai does best and the most delicious items on the menu come from the griddle. The Tow In is a Hawaiian sweet bread French toast that is served with a rich coconut pudding and roasted macadamia nuts. The Tube Ride tops off that same French toast with lemon curd and a sweet and tangy mixed berry coulis. They also offer macadamia nut pancakes with maple syrup.

There some great savory choices as well, such as the Duck Dive which is a benedict that contains two fresh, sunny side up eggs, spinach, tomato and hollandaise sauce. All the benedicts come with your choice of flavorful rice and beans or fresh tropical fruit.

Dieters will love the amazingly fresh fruit salad that contains many different exotic fruits that are indigenous to the island. There is also a sweet and savory granola that comes with seasonal fruit and your choice of milk.

Dinner at Anuenue Café in Kauai

Dinner sandwiches include an ahi steak that is balances well with the roasted macadamia nuts and avocado with which it is paired. Vegetarians will love The Hono, which is a portabella mushroom served with a fresh and flavorful spinach, goat cheese and ripe tomatoes. All entrees at Anuenue Café are served with fresh fruit on a crispy, fried sticky white rice bun. They also offer desserts which change on a nightly basis.
